Hello!

My name is Lisa Peckham, and I am the Language Arts teacher for Team Thor.

SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS WILL:
*Be on time for class.
*Come to class prepared with all necessary materials such as: 3-ring binder, Mears student planner, pencil, and any books that have
been assigned.
*Complete all homework assignments to the best of your ability, AND turn them in on time.
*Be responsible for writing down homework assignments in your planner every day.
*Model appropriate behavior at all times.

QUARTERLY PASSES:
Students on Team Thor are given two (2) passes each quarter for each of their core classes. These are good to Excuse a Tardy, Locker
and Restroom.

ABSENCES AND LATE WORK:
It is the responsibility of the student to pick up make-up work.

ASSIGNMENTS: Team Thor has a weekly newsletter where we post our assignments each week. Please look on the Mears Website under "Teams" for the link to the "Team Thor Newsletter".

Assignments will be accepted for full credit at the beginning of the period, unless otherwise stated by the teacher. Assignments can be
turned in until the end of the unit for 70% credit of the earned grade*. Work turned in after the completion of the unit will receive ONE completion point.

When you are absent, one day of make-up privileges will be granted for each day of excused absence. (No make-up privileges for
unexcused absences.)
Work assigned before the absence will be due on the day the student returns to school. If notification of a test was given before the
absence, the student will
be expected to take the test the day he, or she returns to school. * See Student Handbook for more information on this.

GRADES AND GRADING SCALE:
Grades are determined by the percentage of points students earn out of the total of points possible.

90% - 100% = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
60% - 69% = D
0 - 59% = F

PROGRESS REPORTS:
Mid-term progress reports will be sent home
during the 5th week of the quarter for a parent signature. Reports that are not returned will be mailed home for a signature.
