Desmos is a tool that was created to be used by math teachers. However, World Language teachers have started using it as an engagement tool to provide a platform where teachers can have students respond to prompts and questions during class, and receive immediate feedback from the teacher who is viewing student work as they type. This offers teachers valuable comprehension checks and other instantaneous formative feedback that is hard to find in most tools. Teachers report that Desmos is more flexible for WL teachers than other platforms, such as PearDeck, because, for example, it allows teachers to include some "blank" or generic questions to allow teachers to personalize the question to each particular class discussion that day.
