AVID (Advance Via Individual Determination) provides professional development for teachers in the areas of student writing, reading, critical thinking, teamwork, and organization. Adopting this program will empower teachers with skill sets and lessons to then provide to students. Lessons are focused around the concept of WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading), all of which work to help students learn at higher levels and increase rigor in the classroom while supporting all students in their academic growth.
