VIDEO PRODUCTION

Class Introduction:

Students will gain experience with video production, teamwork, and digital story development by producing a variety of videos including news broadcasts, short movies, public service announcements and/or commercials. Speaking, writing and problem-solving skills will be acquired as well as work ethics.

Learner Outcomes:

Movie-Making Basics:
a) Students will describe and identify movie-making terminology and techniques
b) Students will develop an understanding of script-writing, videography, editing and finalizing.

Video Projects:
a) Students will practice filming using seven basic videography shots and use this footage to practice editing video.
b) Students will learn to use iMovie and other video editing programs.
c) Students will learn the importance of teamwork, professionalism and responsibility as applied to a work setting.
d) Students will demonstrate the ability to self and peer critique.

Exploring Career Opportunities:
a) Students will interpret employment and educational information for individual needs.
b) Students will identify and practice professionalism in video projects.
