Tests will be announced in advance and will cover all in and out of class work.

Materials: The textbook we will be using is Biology copyright 2000 by Glencoe/McGraw-Hill. We will be using the textbooks in class. I will not be checking out books to every student. Please contact me if you would like your student to check out a book. Other textbooks may be used in class as needed.

Students will have a portfolio consisting of two folders and a science notebook. All assignments, notes and handouts will be kept in this portfolio. Students may take their folders and notebook home, but must return them. Their notebook will be graded 2 times per quarter for notes, lab write-ups, and learning logs.

Grading: Numerical grades will be based on a percentage of the total points possible. Letter grades will be based on participation as well as the students numerical standing relative to other students in the class.
