Class Introduction:

7th GRADE CURRICULUM:

FOOD TECHNOLOGY AND NUTRITION: The student will:
Correctly and safely use kitchen tools and equipment.
Demonstrate correct food handling.
Successfully prepare food in the food labs.
Apply principles of good nutrition in menu planning and activities.
TEXTILES CREATIONS: The student will:
Safely, correctly use the sewing machine and small sewing tools.
Demonstrate basic techniques of sewing.
Complete a machine and hand sewn project.
RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE:
Taught for introduction into child development to include ages and stages, safety, first aid basics, and business practices for babysitting.
CAREERS/ JOB RESUMES/ MONEY:
Covered within the babysitting unit and further explored if time allows in each quarter.
