Class Introduction:

Algebra Support

Algebra support is designed to help students who are ready for Algebra but need help and time.

� Provides more one to one help.
� Time to collaborate with peers.
� Study and prep time for Tests.
� Time to do homework.
� Explore and practice in the computer labs.
� Pre teach topics coming up in the regular Algebra class.
This is very powerful.

Algebra 1 requires and A or B all 4 quarters in order to move on in Geometry. There have been some cases with a C made one quarter but those require teacher approval and a parent wavier. If the A or B requirement is not meet then Algebra 1 will be repeated which dictates the Science class taken. You cannot take Biology or Chemistry with out successful completion of Algebra 1.

Algebra support does exactly what it says. It supports students in being successful in Algebra 1.

Enrollment in Algebra Support does not guarantee and A or B in the class but sure does help send students in the right direction.

Algebra support is during 7th hour only and can be taken for just a Semester but most students end up staying all year as they find the class a valuable tool for success. Algebra Support can be joined during the school year but only if there is an open seat.

We work hard but have a great time doing it.

Grades are based on showing up for class prepared and ready to work.
