SPANISH B

Class Introduction:

This is a year-long course. It is the equivalent of the second semester of high school Spanish I. Students who successfully complete this course may go on to Spanish II in high school. Optional high school credit may be awarded retroactively for this course after successful completion of Spanish II.

Building on what was learned in Spanish A, students will expand their ability to speak, read, write and listen in Spanish. The emphasis is on continued vocabulary development and the acquisition of additional simple grammatical structure. There will be many opportunities to converse and write about familiar topics. Students begin applying their Spanish language skill to communication in basic real-life situations. They also continue to learn about the culture of Spanish-speaking people.
