Welcome to Ocean View Elementary for the 2016-2017 school year!
My name is Holly Barlcay (Mrs. Barclay) and I am excited to be your teacher this year! All I ever wanted to be growing up was a teacher, and now here I am! I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades and this is my 17th year as
a teacher in the district. I have been at
Ocean View for the last 16 years and I can’t imagine teaching anywhere else.
The overarching goal of 6th grade is to prepare students to be successful in Middle School. As such, a substantial focus will be placed on student responsibility and
accountability; in their work and behavior. I look forward to partnering with you (parents/guardians and students) in the pursuit of this goal. The 5th graders who are in my room will be getting a head start on these important life
skills.
Our class will be using Google Classroom this year as our online portal for homework, projects and general information. You can download the app on the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store or go to I know that we are going to have a fun and exciting school year!
