I currently teach oceanography, marine biology, and engineering essentials at Dimond High School. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Materials Needed: 1 college ruled composition book (no spiral notebooks) and pencils
Optional Materials to have or donate to the classroom: colored pencils/markers/pens, rulers, expo board markers, scotch tape rolls for classroom dispensers
Information about me: I am National Board Certified, have my National Geographic teacher certification, and am the 2015 Alaska Science Awardee for the Presidential Awards for Education in Math and Science Teaching(PAEMST). I have a B.S. in Biology from Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts, and received my master of arts as a science instructor from the University of Alaska Anchorage. I completed the Semester of Environmental Science Program at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. I spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali working in natural resource management. I grew up in Alaska and began teaching at Romig Middle School in 2006 and moved to Dimond High in 2017. I took part in the three-year Academy Creating Teacher Scientists at Batelle/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. I am a sponsor for Dimond's National Ocean Science Bowl club, GSA, and coach Battle of the Books
