Sign up where it says Join Now!

Your username must be in the format below, because later in the process you are going to join my wikispace � the space that I will be managing and monitoring the content of my space� and I will need an easy way to keep track of who is making change.

username: mun[yourfirstname]
password: [whatever you want within parameters]
email: [your email account]

Example:

password: [something clever]

Once you�ve set up an account and are logged in, type vanowiki in the search box beneath Make a New Space. Click on the link �vanowiki�

Then sign up to join my wiki by clicking on Join This Space once you see my home page � there�s a surprise. Go through the necessary forms, and when I accept your request, you become a member of my wiki.

Soon each student will be assigned a group and a project task, and then we give this wiki thing a shot � it has the potential to be really great fun.

If you finish signing in and joining Vanowiki, then you should play around with your own wiki page. Please do not make changes to my wiki at this time. Go back to your wiki page and go through the tutorials and figure out how to get around editing a wiki page � it�s quite easy once you�ve got an understanding of the basic tools.

Note: Once you are signed up and have been accepted on to my wiki as a member, I will be able, as manager and operator of Vanowiki, to keep track of all changes and of those who make changes or don�t make changes. In the near future you will be assigned certain areas where you will be free to make change. My hope is that this wiki becomes a positive tool for everyone. So, in that respect, I will not tolerate any sabotage of my space, or any member�s space or any group�s space; we must work in a collaborative and constructive manner for this experiment with fairly new web technology to work. Fortunately, we are able to work on this site entirely for free! Also, note that once you sign up to wikispace, you become operator and manager of your own space -- a space that I will automatically be able to see. So, don�t create content on your space that I would have to report to a counselor, administrator, or parent. I repeat, don�t create content that I would have to report to a counselor, administrator, or parent. Your wikispace must be school-appropriate.
