Students have opportunity to learn and demonstrate ability to play a variety of songs to earn belts similar to the martial arts karate.  Students may play along  online with their Recorder Karate practice packet.

Rules for playing recorder:

1. 1.   Left hand on top, forget me not
   

2. 2.   Use two hands, Recorder fans
   

3. 3.   Warm, slow air; a good sound, we care!
   

4. 4.   Elbows off knees, when playing, please
   

5. 5.   Tupperware seal so we won’t squeal
   

Parents, we don’t expect perfection from the young players when testing; five mistakes or less will allow the player to pass a belt test.
