Reading Homework
Dear Parents,
Our reading curriculum includes the use of weekly photocopied stories the children practice in class, and then take home to practice with you and other family members. This builds reading fluency.
Students can read these books to stuffed animals, parents, pets, siblings, or anything/anyone they choose as long as they are reading or being read to for 20 minutes an average of 5 days a week. This will help your child become a more fluent and confident reader. As we begin reading more difficult books, your child will begin to read the early readers and progress onto more difficult books.
Each week your child will get a Tic-Tac-Toe spelling page. Your child will select at least 3 of these activities to complete throughout the week with their spelling words. If your child chooses to do more than the required 3, they will earn extra credit!
Thank you for your help in building reading fluency with your child!
