Dreamweaver 5.5 settings and other information

One of the ramifications of the change in security settings last year was that Dreamweaver could no longer be used to update web sites on the ASD server directly. With the introduction of Dreamweaver version 5, that is now fixed. The following settings allow a direct connection: (I've tested this on both Macs and Windows - the settings are equivalent and appear to work smoothly.) Note the addition of the 'Use IPV6 Transfer Mode'

To buy a personal, academic version of dreamweaver appears to be $149 through OETC (Techhead store). (the Adobe site appears to give the same price.)

A license for 5.5 for an academic institution appears to be $107.50 through OETC. The concurrent license ($187.20) might be good if you have several people who might use it, but only one at a time.

I could find nothing in OETC about updating version 5 to version 5.5. The only reference I found was a second-hand comment that it cost $400 to update version 5 Creative Suite to version 5.5 (non-academic)

You can download a trial version for free - for 30 days. The programs has way more new features than I care about, but I love the ability to directly update the pages that I have made changes to, without going to another ftp program.
