Open Source Software


The Open Source Software movement has been growing. There are now a number of high-quality programs that run on Macintosh, Windows, and Linux computers that are available to do many standard computer tasks. As Open Source, they are free to download and use, assuming that you follow the terms of their licenses. For instance, if you wish the functionality of Microsoft Office, but cannot afford to buy a copy, alternatives exist.
