Some teachers wish to have an assignment listed in Zangle that is completed by some students and not others. Or they wish to show that a student has completed the assignment, but it hasn't been graded yet. Zangle has procedures for both of these. Two are presented here.
Under Gradebook Setup, select Scoring Options. Add one or both of these.
1) Complete - this will allow you to show that the assignment was completed, but not yet scored.
2) Incomplete - this will allow you to show that the assignment is 'on the books' but that the student hasn't completed it yet. If you Ignore Assignment, it will not count against the student.
If you select 'Completed' in grading (either Edit by Task or Edit by Student),
1) the spreadsheet view will show the color that you selected.
2) The progress report shows that the student has completed the assignment, but if you look carefully in the calculation (3), you will see that the points were not included in the grade.
After you have set up the assignment, use the Fill Down option to give everyone an Incomplete.
As students complete the assignment, enter their grades and remove the Incomplete flag.
1) Your spreadsheet will show the grades and the incompletes with the color chosen.
2) Progress reports will show the incomplete assignment, but will not include the points.
Return one level up.
