There are a couple of things that anyone who wants to do some of the minor re-settings of the copier should pay close attention to!
1) Most of the time, you do NOT need to power off the copier. In the good-old-days, this was a common, generic, cure-all. It should not be used as such.
2) If you power off the copier by just clicking the black switch in the back off and then back on, this locks up the copier. Don’t do it that way.
3) If you do need to power off the copier (there are times that it tells you to), follow these steps.
If you don’t want to deal with this, we understand. Please contact someone else to go through this. I do not want to become ‘the copier guy’, but I am starting to pick up some of this from Sam and will be happy to help out as much as I can.
For those of you who remember better when you know why you do things: You turn off the beige button first because it turns off the DC power to the electronics. Then the black switch turns off the AC power to the whole machine.
