Hello, my name is Debbie Wakefield, and I teach Classroom Music to grades Kindergarten through Sixth. I was born and raised in Lead, South Dakota. I received my degree in Music Education at South Dakota State University. I taught one year and then met my husband. We were married and began our family. It wasn't until we moved in 1985 to Alaska that I decided to return to teaching. I began teaching full time again in 1989 at Bayshore and Campbell. My focus is to teach music concepts through many different avenues. Those avenues are singing, dancing, playing instruments, listening and learning about music from different cultures and time periods. Famous composers are highlighted and focused upon in the Intermediate grades. You are always welcome to pop in and observe at any time!
This is the Wakefield family. Paul is my husband. From left to right are my children,Elissa, Joy, John and Laura.
