AP U.S. HISTORY

Class Introduction:

Hello and welcome to AP U.S. History (APUSH)! I look forward to a fun and exciting year. This course is designed after a year long introductory college course, and as such requires greater commitment and effort than a normal U.S. History course. During the course of the year, students will develop their reading, writing and speaking skills while learning about U.S. History, beginning with the first European contact through modern times. Assignments may include reading guides, reading and analysis of primary and secondary source documents, essay and project writing, Document Based Questions (DBQ’s), and in-class discussions, presentations, and debates. Students will be expected to be engaged and participate fully in all class periods. At the end of the year, students will be prepared to take the AP U.S. History exam offered by the College Board.
