AP ENGLISH LANGUAGE & COMPOSITION, PERIODS 2 & 3

Class Introduction:

AP Language is, first and foremost, a college-level composition course. It's end outcome is the College Board AP English Language and Composition Exam, and ALL students who complete the year in AP Lang are expected to sit for the exam.

Most compositions in AP Lang will focus on argumentation and rhetorical analysis. Students will write an average of one composition per week, in addition to many informal compositions and opportunities for writing. Students will be expected to analyze the rhetorical techniques of non-fiction literature and discuss those techniques, at length, with their classmates and in writing.

NEEDED SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Binder, loose-leaf paper, pens (blue or black only), pencils, and highlighters (MUST HAVE blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink!)
