Working on Windows, saving for Macintosh users
Whenever you are thinking about universal access, there are a number of things to pay attention to. A few specific tips for Windows users:
- Really, the Mac is exceptional at dealing with Windows information. I can't really think of anything in particular that needs to be done.
- If you are working in Microsoft Office, you should be thinking about users that aren't using Microsoft Office, regardless of platform. (see general page on saving with different file types)
- Few Mac users have yet upgraded to Microsoft Office 2008. If you are using Office 2007, you might plan to save as Office 2004 documents for general distribution. I recently helped someone who sent out a document to school teachers statewide in Office 2007 who was puzzled by the number who could not open it.
